UWHR Has Strong DFPM Representation

University of Utah journal Utah Women's Health Review (UWHR) is dedicated to examining issues of health, safety, and wellbeing for women in the state. Since it's inception in 2020, the publication has seen contributions from thinkers across a wide range of disciplines.

In addition to its breadth of interdisciplinary submissions, UWHR Review has exhibited strong representation from DFPM administrators. Karen Schliep, PhD, MSPH serves as Editor in Chief, and DFPM faculty Lisa Gren, PhD and Joseph Stanford, MD are Associate Editors. Additionally, Melanie Steiner-Sherwood, PhD serves as the Manuscript Editor.

In addition to being supported by the strong leadership of these faculty and staff members, UWHR also is a showcase of DFPM research and review. Of the 17 submissions published in the most recent 2021 edition of the journal, nearly half were led or mentored by a student or faculty member in the department.

UWHR 2021 is now available to read online, and focuses on women's health and healthcare relative to the 7 domains of health: physical, reproductive, social, emotional, occupational, financial, environmental, intellectual, and spiritual.
