Jincheng Shen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences, and holds adjunct appointments with the Department of Internal Medicine and Department of Family & Preventive Medicine, at the University of Utah. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Prior to coming to Utah, he completed his postdoctoral training in the Department of Biostatistics at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Jincheng joined the University of Utah in 2017.
Research Statement
Dr. Jincheng Shen is interested in statistical methodology development and its application for various health related questions, especially implementation of causal inference tools in cancer studies and statistical genetics and genomics research. His primary methodology research interests include: i) comparative effectiveness analysis in clinical trials and observational study with longitudinal data; ii) Heterogeneous treatment effect estimation and individual treatment rules identification in complex disease setting; iii) statistical analysis of high throughput genetics and epigenetics studies, including genome-wide association studies and mediation analysis. He is actively engaged in a wide spectrum of collaborations with clinicians, biologists and epidemiologists.
