  • About Me

My hometown is in the heart of the Adirondack mountains in upstate New York, and I ran rampant in the woods and lakes for most of my childhood. I grew up Nordic skiing and ended up ski racing for the University of New Hampshire while studying Mathematics. I then moved out to Colorado where I got a master's in Bioengineering, coached some skiing, learned how to mountain bike and started skiing on fat skis! I decided, albeit a bit late, that research was not for me, got my EMT license and worked at a community ER. I have not looked back since and am beyond excited to be pursuing a career in Emergency Medicine.

    Interests & Hobbies

Most of my hobbies involve me being outside. I really like to self propel myself upwards whether it is on a road bike, mountain bike, trail run, nordic skis or backcountry skis. The effort makes the downhills that much sweeter! It's even better when I can do it with my husband (Leif), our dog (Otis), or friends. I do like to top off outdoor play with pastries and sweet treats, both from local bakeries or my own home attempt. I am curious to see the regional fungi as I love to forage for mushrooms and I hope I can find a home with a little garden plot for growing veggies!

    Why Utah?

I was lucky to see Utah's EM program first hand while doing an away rotation. I loved the dynamic between student/resident and attending. I felt each individual was there to help me learn and also there to provide the best patient care. The University offers multiple clinical sites for varied training, allowing opportunities to explore possible career fields including rural/critical access medicine. I saw myself supported by leadership and fell in love with the residents. I am ecstatic to be a part of this community, all with the added bonus of mountains and wonderful terrain to explore.
