  • About Me

Growing up in a suburb of NYC, I knew that city life wasn’t quite for me. I headed up to Maine for college, studying Biology and German whilst developing an everlasting love for sleeping in the dirt, pine trees, and skiing in –40 degree weather. I moved out west after graduation where I worked in oncology research for a couple years in Denver, CO and spent a few months of my life in I-70 traffic. With plans to pursue a career in medicine and some childhood dreams I had yet to tackle, I headed up to Moose, WY where I worked as a horse wrangler on a ranch in the summer and a ski rental technician in the winter, living in the shadow of the Tetons and creating memories I will live off of forever. Medical school brought me back up to Maine where I developed a passion for EM and inconsistent sleep schedules - couldn’t be happier that this is where life took me!

Rural EM, Wilderness Medicine, Global Health, Indigenous Healthcare, Ultrasound.

    Interests & Hobbies

I love to read, cook (albeit quite unimpressively), garden, be average at trivia, and work on multiple unfinished knitting projects. But most of the time, I’m usually covered in snow, dirt, or dog hair, frequently all at once. I’m happiest during outdoor adventures with my pup Wyo - skiing, hiking/camping, fly fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, paddleboarding, we do it all together, with as many other dogs (and friends) by my side as possible.

    Why Utah?

Having lived in Utah’s neighboring states prior to medical school, I hoped and planned to move back out west at some point. I was drawn by the chance to train at both community and academic centers with strong ties to wilderness medicine and rural EM. Couple that with the kindest resident/faculty community I met during my away rotation and a patient population very dear to me, and I knew I would be lucky to spend the next three years here. Plus, this program happens to be tucked in my (and my dog’s) favorite corner of the country with incredible access to all our favorite activities - one of the easiest decisions I’ve ever had to make!
