APIHM Activity - Bald Sisters

In honor of Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine's Office of Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, in collaboration with the University of Utah's Reclaim Your Lunchbox with the Center for Equity and Student Belonging, invites you to an evening with the compelling play, Bald Sisters by Vichet Chum, at Salt Lake Acting Company.

Bald Sisters is a poignant exploration of sisterhood, identity, and the Cambodian American immigrant experience. The play follows two sisters, grappling with grief and tension, one sister is undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer while the other is pregnant. As they come together to mourn and plan their mother's funeral, their bond is tested, revealing the resilience of family ties in the face of adversity.  

Before the play, join us at the Salt Lake Acting Company Green Room for delicious meat pies and desserts from Sagato Bakery. Plus, stay tuned for a post-show Q&A session with the talented actors. There are limited tickets available, please RSVP before April 22, 2024 to reserve your tickets.

EDI Graduate Celebration

The Celebrating U Completely EDI Graduate Celebration stands as an illustration of inclusivity and recognition, underscoring the profound significance of honoring the journey and achievements of every graduate. In a world where diversity enriches the fabric of our shared humanity, this event serves as a poignant reminder of the value of celebrating the unique and diverse stories of each graduate. This celebration transcends mere academic accomplishment; it becomes a platform for amplifying all perspectives, ensuring that every graduate is celebrated for their distinct contributions to our collective tapestry. 


The University of Utah Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion invites this year’s graduating class to the Celebrating U Completely EDI Graduate Celebration on April 29, 2024, at 5 p.m. in the Cleone Peterson Eccles Alumni House.  

Undergraduate and graduate students graduating in December 2023, May 2024, or August 2024 are invited to register by April 19, 2024 to take part in the celebration.


 

Four Corners Alliance-AAIP Pre-Admission Workshop

The purpose of the Four Corners Alliance-AAIP Pre-Admission Workshop is to increase the number of highly qualified American Indian and Alaska Native medical school applicants. The goal of our program is to share an overview of the pathway to medical school and mentor you so that you can become knowledgeable about the application process as well as the financial and campus resources that are available to help you prepare for medical school. We are looking forward to your interest in our program as a pre-medical student.

This workshop provides a unique opportunity to:

  •  Learn about the medical school application process
  • Get insights on Interview and MCAT preparation
