1991

Mark Bair, M.D.

Dr. Bair lives in Highland, Utah where he practices emergency medicine.

Van Christiansen, M.D.

Dr. Christiansen is a family practice physician in Ogden at the Ogden Clinic’s Mountain View facility.

Denise Devereaus, M.D.

Denise lives in Soquel, CA and practices family medicine with obstetrics at the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group in Watsonville, CA.

Shay Holley, M.D.

Dr. Holley practices at Davis Hospital/Ogden Regional where they have established one of the premier emergency department groups in the west. Dr. Holley is married to Erin and has five children.

Liz Jensen, M.D.

Dr. Jensen is the chief of pathology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. She lives in Salt Lake City with her husband and children.

Randy Jensen, M.D.

Dr. Jensen was recently promoted to Professor of Neurosurgery, Radiation Oncology and Oncological Sciences at the University of Utah. He is also President of the Rocky Mountain Neurosurgery Society.

Douglas Lougee, M.D.

Dr. Lougee is currently servings as the Command Surgeon for the SU SOUTHCOM/US Army.  This is an operational medicine position that provides guidance to the Command for medical activities and issues of US Military in Latin America and the Caribbean.  He was deployed to Iraq in 2007-2008.  He's been married to Suzanne for 24 years and they have four kids, one son and three daughters.  He is still running, although he notes it's much slower now!

Russell Meldrum, M.D.

Dr. Meldrum has a practice at Indiana University. He was recently promoted to associate professor with tenure. Also, he recently received the Orthopedic and Education Foundation Career Development Award. Buddy Ray Nielson, M.D. Dr. Nielson practices anesthesiology at the Citizens Medical Center in Texas. And, he serves on the credentials committee at Deltar Health Care System. He and his wife, Parivesh, have 3 children.

Richard J. Olsen, M.D.

Dr. Olsen is a pediatric ophthalmologist at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Jeff Randle, M.D.

In 1998 Dr. Randle helped found the Healing Hands for Haiti International Foundation, which is dedicated to providing rehabilitation training, care and equipment to the disabled of Haiti. From 1999-2009 HHH treated over 10,000 patients. The earthquake of January 2010 destroyed seven of the eight clinic compound buildings. Dr. Randle traveled to Haiti with a team of doctors and nurses five days after the earthquake and helped coordinate makeshift clinics field surgery. In April 2011 HHH began rebuilding the clinic and prosthetic shop which should be completed by this time next year. James “Fritz” Schmutz, M.D.

Dr. Schmutz is an Interventional Radiologist at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, Mountain View Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Significant career achievements include Fellow of the Year in 1997 at the University of Washington, Chairman of Medical Imaging Department EIRMC, President of the Idaho Chapter American College of Radiology, Idaho Falls Medical Society President and Counselor to the ACR National Conference.

David L. Tanner, M.D.

Dr. Tanner is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Primary Children's Medical Center. He and his wife, Stephanie, were married in 2003 and have a daughter.

Kandice Knigge, M.D.

Dr. Knigge currently lives in Portland, Oregon where she is the Gastroenterology Fellowship Director at the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). She is also the American College of Gastroenterology Governor for the Oregon Region, and the Assistant Medical Director, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic at OHSU.

Lloyd Jensen, M.D.

Dr. Jensen practices pediatrics in Idaho at the Pocatello Children’s Clinic at the Portneuf Medical Center.  He is enjoying life in Idaho with his family.

Robert C. Moesinger, M.D.

Dr. Moesinger is a gastrointestinal surgeon at McKay-Dee Hospital and Ogden Regional Hospital.  He has been an assistant professor in surgical oncology and associate director of surgical residency program at the University of Maryland, as well as the general surgery assistant chief of service at John Hopkins Hospital.  He is married to Sheila Magnon Moesinger and has five children.

Craig Shane, M.D.

Dr. Shane is practicing emergency medicine at LDS Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center.  He is the chairman of LDS Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine and associate medical director of Intermountain Life Flight.

Steven Warnock, M.D.

Dr. Warnock practices medicine at Primary Children’s Medical Center and Alta View Hospital.  He did cranial facial surgery with a volunteer service in Guatemala.  He is currently keeping busy with his cosmetic surgery practice.

Nathan Call, M.D.

Dr. Call is a practicing family medicine physician at Intermountain Health in Providence, Utah. He completed his resident in family medicine in 1996.

Bruce McAllister, M.D.

Dr. McAllister is a practicing radiation oncologist. After being away eight years in California, and four years in Arizona, Dr. McAllister says he was fortunate enough to find work in Utah in 2006.

R. Neil Van Leeuwen, M.D.

Dr. Van Leeuwen completed his residency in otolaryngology at the University of Missouri. Afterward, he spent eight years practicing in the US Air Force. Three of those years he served at Hill Air Force Base in Layton, Utah. He then served five years at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, where he also served as the surgical specialties commander. He spent one year in private practice following his service before joining the Tanner Clinic in Layton. He and his wife, Cathy, life in Kaysville with four of their six children. Their oldest, Ben, is served an LDS mission in Minnesota and their daughter Amanda is at BYU-Idaho for college.

Robert Killian, M.D.

Dr. Killian owns his own practice in Seattle, Washington serving the LGBT community. He treats those with HIV which is 20% of the population that comes into his practice. He changed 12 laws in the United States on the sane approach to the Drug War, and The Death and Dignity Movement. He is also a researcher in working to approach HIV prevention funded by Bill and Melinda Gates.

Keith Soderberg, M.D.

Dr. Soderberg practices in an eight man ENT group in Tuscon, Arizona.  They cover three of the main hospitals in town and provide full service ENT, allergy, pediatrics, and head and neck surgery.  He and his family love the warmth of Arizona but miss skiing at times during the winter.

Sarah Bronsky, M.D.

Dr. Bronsky practices family medicine at Bozeman Creek Family Health, in Bozeman Montana. She is currently raising two children: Zoë, age 7; and Max, age 5.

Evelyn Driscoll, M.D.

Dr. Driscoll is a practicing psychiatrist at the Center for Mental Health in Helena, Montana. Her practice is in general adult psychiatry-community and rural. She has two children: Dominic, age 17, who was born while she was a second year student, is now a senior in high school; and, Lauren, age 15, who is a sophomore.

Ken Liechty, M.D.

Dr. Liechty is a practicing pediatric surgeon at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. He has three children, and the youngest is 11 months. Dr. Liechty is a NIH-funded investigator and is in the fetal surgery program at Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania.

Paul D. Whitehead, M.D.

Dr. Whitehead completed his internship, residency, and two fellowships in Connecticut. He is a forensic psychiatrist and clinical director of the Forensic Unit at the Utah State Hospital as well as adjunct faculty at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He is married and has one daughter.

Matthew Hansen, M.D.

Dr. Hansen went to the University of Michigan for his residency in pediatrics and is currently a pediatric hematologist/oncologist in Boise, Idaho.

James Schouten, M.D.

Dr. Schouten practices Family Medicine and is the Hospice Medical Director in Payson, Arizona. He has four daughers.
