Office of Academic Culture and Community
In a move to align with Utah law, The Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine’s Office of Health, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion office announces its new name: the Office of Academic Culture and Community (OACC).
This new name underscores the school’s unwavering commitment to equal opportunity and social mobility. The change reflects efforts to foster a vibrant, welcoming culture and place of belonging for all.
Paloma Cariello, MD, MPH, Associate Dean of the new office emphasized “Our primary objective is to enrich SFESOM’s academic environment and ensure that every community feels valued and supported”.
Dr Cariello invites the academic community to welcome this new chapter as an opportunity to cultivate a rich culture where everyone is valued and respected.
The office will continue to provide resources, support, and programming that helps individuals from all walks of life thrive academically, personally, and professionally.
“Together, we can build a stronger, more unified community that embodies values of compassion, understanding, and different viewpoints,” Says Dr Cariello.
The renamed Office of Academic Culture and Community is dedicated to fostering a stronger, more unified academic community that embraces compassion and different perspectives.
